Manual Handling

Facilitating safe use of abrasive wheels

At Michael Spiller Training Services, we provide training services that can adapt according to the changing regulations. For example, the Abrasive Wheels Regulations 1970 laid down the standard for the safe use of abrasive wheels and was replaced by the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations PUWER 1998. Under the 1970 regulations, our courses were primarily designed for those personnel handling and mounting wheels. Under the PUWER 1998 regulation, plant operators and those supervising or managing them should be trained to a similar standard. The PUWER 1998 regulation also states that all equipment must be suitable for its purpose, which places even greater importance on correct wheel selection.
